Here is three of the five model creations I have to do, the other two I cant figure out they are hard!!

Sustain" - what works well for you with the video you chose?
This video show and talks about how to break down a math problem (Polynomials).
"Change" - Is there anything you would change regarding the video or the concept of "flipping the classroom".
There isnt really anything that I could see or think of changing it breaks everything down perfect.
In your opinion, could "flipping the classroom" work out? Should education institutions work towards this new paradigm?
This could work "fliping the classroom", but if you look at it from every angle some people work better with actually teachers there helping them and not just looking at the computer.

Money Ball Work

1)      What was the “Money ball” approach that Billy Beane and Peter Brandt applied to the Oakland Athletics 2002 season? Was it an “art” or a “science”? What single statistic did they boil their value consideration down to? (In class research/discussion) The money ball approach was more science than art but there was still art in it that came from the players that the sciences’ came from.
2) What is the equation used to calculate OBP? (In class research/discussion) The statistic is rarely presented as a true percentage) is a measure of how often a batter reaches base for any reason other than a fielding error, fielder's choice, dropped/uncaught third strike, fielder's obstruction, or catcher's interference
3) What is design? (In class research/discussion) Design is essentially a rational, logical, sequential process intended to solve problems.
4) Describe 3 situations where movie characters (intentionally or not) applied a step from the PLTW 12 Step Design Process. Explain both the (a) situation as well as (b) how the step is relevant:
1 – Where Billy and the scouts were disusing, and skipped the first step on finding out what the problem was.

2 – When Billy and the fm were negotiating on why not to put a certain player on what base because of their abilities.

1 - The action of leading a group of people or an organization.
2 -The state or position of being a leader.
3 – Someone who shows direction, command, and management.


6) Describe 3 circumstances from the story where a character exercised effective leadership:
1 -  When Billy went in to the room and told the team if they like how willing felt and sounded.

2 – When Billy’s daughter told him to not give up and go back and watch the game.

9) How long was the A’s record setting winning streak? 20games won.

10) Given the A’s win/loss ratio at the start of the streak (listed two questions above), what are the odds of winning 20 games in a row? Run the numbers. (In class research/discussion)

11) Based on your calculation, do you think the A’s got lucky or was there something to the Money ball approach?

I think it was something but it had luck mixed in there somewhere.

12) Did Billy Beane strictly apply the “science” of Money ball to his management approach? Was there an “art” to his efforts as well? Describe a circumstance where he broke from the Money ball approach to make a positive change for the team.Yes, he mainly did the money ball approach, but there was some art put in to it because of the players and their ability to play a certain way.
